I began my journey with yoga in the summer of 2001. As a then marathon runner I had developed several running injuries. A friend of mine suggested trying a “hot yoga class”. They said it might help my tight muscles. After going to the first class I was amazed, driving home that my hands were “wrinkled” just like I had spent a long time in the water. I remember thinking about how clean I felt. After several weeks of going only once or twice a week Martha opened up this studio and my life was forever changed. Instead of going once or twice a week I was able to go four to five times per week. I was hooked.

Improvements in balance, flexibility, and overall ease of motion were immediate. As my practice continued I noticed other mental benefits. Greater concentration and stress reduction are the most evident.

The opportunity presented itself to do teacher training in 2018 and I jumped on board. I began teaching in the summer of 2018 and completed my certification in November 2018. It is an amazing experience to lead students through this practice.

When not in the hot room, my wife and I enjoy tandem bicycling and being a grandparent!
